Murder/mystery/policier. Some of this was formulaic and annoying, especially a secondary character but the eventual resolution worked.
I didn't like the romantic sub-plot which seemed too stiff and undeveloped.
This won the oscar for BFF but it really was unexceptional and may not have deserved it.
